the Crown Jewel

The blue blood of royalty retains a regal means

Never in question of what lineage brings

For it is decided

By Kings and Queens

Yet within the hush of artful pride

Is the reality

That forced attraction will not respond

And a predetermined marriage is a brittle bond

Like unquenched thirst near an untouched pond

Sooner or later

True love will come along

It will strike in the eyes of a penniless hand

Buried from sight like tears in the sand

Only silence will allow

This love to expand

Here is the story as told it will happen

One child is born

By the spoils of satin

And one by the drawn curtain

Of adoring passion

So goes the consequence of lordly rule

Kings and Queens behaving in an unending duel

So blindly they live

As vanities fool

For fervent love lives in a confound pool

And darkness hides

The true crown jewel
