Tim Cantor made a bold decision in the summer of  2000,  to venture into his long awaited dream of opening his own art gallery.  Now, set in the Heart of  The Historic Gaslamp Quarter of Downtown San Diego, Tim Cantor has opened the doors to an extraordinary place where his work can be seen and enjoyed by all.  A unique setting where the vision of one artist has been followed through to every extent, from the layout and design, to the placement of the his paintings that grace the gallery's elegant showroom walls.

When selecting the name for his gallery, Tim Cantor wanted to include his wife Amy, who was christened after Amy Ashby, the mother of her father’s late stepfather, Nelson Ashby.  Mr. Ashby was a distinguished  musician who refined a family and brought them a perceptive insight for the arts; and therefore Tim Cantor has affectionately titled his new gallery “Ashby Galleries presents The Art of Tim Cantor”.  Upon entering the gallery, you will often be welcomed by Amy who will introduce you to the world of Tim Cantor.

Tim Cantor also integrated a private studio within the same location.  A special place where he creates many of his latest original oil paintings and explores the possibilities of sculpture as well.

Tim Cantor will continue to selectively distribute his work throughout the world.  Additional galleries that exhibit his work now have been wisely scrutinized and consented by Tim Cantor himself.  This position of diligence has created a growing level of prestige and mystique that is found in harmony with his artwork.  So while the world in which the art of Tim Cantor is obtainable stays very exclusive, the impact remains all the greater.
