Tim Cantor’s original oil paintings are rare works at the center of his soul. A modern mind, yet painted entirely by hand using traditional methods that follow the discipline of the old Dutch, Flemish, Italian, and French masters—built in layers of oil, time, and patience, without tools that did not exist centuries ago. In this way, his works stand outside of time, carrying forward a language of painting that feels both historical and immediate—defying the era in which they were made. And within them remains the artist himself—present in every surface, carried in the act of their making.
